Baked Bleu Cheese-Stuffed Figs
Bleu cheese and figs: you didn’t even know you were missing these flavors together. After you make these, you’ll know.

Figs are not in season for very long, so make these while the making is good. Bonus points if you bring them to a cocktail party. You will be the height of elegance, and everyone will adore you.
To serve as an hors d’oeuvre:
Figs (2-3 per person)
Bleu cheese- a solid one, like Maytag
Gently wash the figs and slice off their stems. Stand the figs upright and slice downward- but don’t cut all the way through to the base. Turn the fig 90 degrees and do the same thing. Now the fig has four quadrants, but is still connected at the base. Gently pull the quadrants apart and fill the space with bleu cheese. Place stuffed figs in a baking dish. Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes, or until your kitchen smells delicious.
I suggest eating these with red wine, while looking at attractive people.
